Terms & Conditions for STS Computers

1. Agreement for Repair

1.1 The terms outlined in these Terms and Conditions (β€œAgreement”) apply to all repair services (β€œService”) provided by STS Computers to repair your smartphone, tablet, computer, and/or accessories (β€œDevice”) as indicated on the service check-in form.
1.2 References to β€œwe”, β€œus”, and β€œour” refer to STS Computers, while references to β€œyou” and β€œyour” refer to the customer (β€œCustomer”) named on the service check-in form.


2. All Repairs (Unless Otherwise Stated)

2.1 This Agreement commences when you sign the service check-in form and continues until your Device is repaired, returned, or deemed unrepairable, whichever is sooner, and all charges due are paid.
2.2 We will make reasonable efforts to repair your Device, subject to availability of necessary parts and relevant warranties. We aim to complete repairs with the utmost care and skill.
2.3 We offer high-quality aftermarket and genuine parts (OEM), wherever available, for the repair of your Device.
2.4 Repairs may require the disassembly of your Device, which may result in further damage. STS Computers shall not be liable for any damage that existed prior to repair.
2.5 We will conduct a diagnostic test before proceeding with repairs. If the Device is not testable, we may require the passcode to perform a full check.
2.6 Any time estimate for repair completion is an approximation and not a guarantee. Repair times may vary depending on the complexity of the issue.
2.7 If we are unable to complete the Service or the cost of repair exceeds the initial estimate, we will notify you immediately. If no fault is found, or you decline the revised estimate, we will return your Device unrepaired, with a diagnostic fee chargeable.
2.8 We are not liable for any further damage discovered after the repair has begun. If disassembly is required, there is a risk of additional damage.
2.9 Any repair costs will be calculated in accordance with our standard charges as updated periodically.
2.10 Diagnostics are non-refundable services.
2.11 We will notify you when your Device is repaired and ready for collection. If uncollected, the Device will be moved to storage after 56 days and a storage fee may apply.
2.12 We have the right to retain your Device until all fees are paid in full. Any overdue Device may incur an additional storage fee.
2.13 By proceeding with the repair, you consent to the retention of removed parts for environmentally responsible recycling.
2.14 Use of our repair service may void your manufacturer’s warranty. We recommend checking with your manufacturer if you wish to preserve your warranty.
2.15 STS Computers will install warranty seals post-repair. Tampering with these seals will void the repair warranty.
2.16 Warranty coverage applies only to the original Device and Customer identified in our records. It does not cover accidental or liquid damage.
2.17 The warranty does not cover any other faults unrelated to the original issue or repairs.
2.18 All repairs will include warranty seals. If these seals are tampered with, the warranty will be void.
2.19 Warranty coverage is applicable only to customers residing in the United Kingdom.
2.20 The warranty does not cover additional travel, postage, or courier costs.
2.21 We are not liable for damage progression in devices repaired elsewhere prior to or after our service.
2.22 Liquid damage repairs are subject to further issues that may arise after repair. We do not guarantee complete resolution of liquid damage.
2.23 If liquid damage reoccurs within the warranty period, we will reassess the situation and offer either a repair or refund (excluding diagnostic fees).
2.24 Waterproofing or resistance cannot be guaranteed following repairs.
2.25 If a part is damaged during repair, it will be replaced with a high-quality non-OEM part.
2.26 Non-OEM screens may show an β€œImportant Display Message” but will not affect functionality.
2.27 Upon collection, you must inspect your Device. Any concerns should be raised immediately with our store team.
2.28 If parts need to be ordered for your repair, payment must be made in full before ordering, and the service is non-refundable.
2.29 Only one promotional discount can be applied at a time and is subject to management discretion. Discounts must be applied at the point of sale.
2.30 Customers using courier services are responsible for securely packing their Device for collection.
2.31 If you request a refund, we reserve the right to reverse the repair and retain necessary parts. We cannot guarantee returning your original parts, but will provide a similar condition replacement.
2.32 Repairs for devices sent to our central workshop may result in a situation where further damage is possible, and we cannot guarantee a fix. If the device is beyond economical repair (BER), we will offer a refund.


3. Refurbished Devices

3.1 Purchasers of refurbished devices have a 14-day cooling-off period for returns, provided the device is in its original condition.
3.2 Refurbished devices come with a 12-month warranty. If any faults arise within this period, we will offer a replacement or a refund.
3.3 Purchases made online must be returned via the online returns process, while in-store purchases must be returned to the original store.


4. Liability

4.1 Our liability for any breach of this Agreement is limited to:
(a) supplying the Service again,
(b) paying the cost of having the Service supplied again, or
(c) refunding the amount you paid for the service.
4.2 If your Device is damaged beyond repair due to our service, we will provide a fully functional refurbished device of equal value.
4.3 We are not liable for any loss or corruption of data stored on your Device. We strongly advise backing up your data before service.
4.4 If your Device is lost or stolen while in our possession, we will replace it with a similar or equivalent device.
4.5 Our liability does not extend to death, personal injury, or fraud as required by law.
4.6 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of business, revenue, or goodwill.
4.7 You must notify us in writing of any claim within three months of discovering the issue.
4.8 Repairs at our central workshop may lead to further damage, and we cannot guarantee a successful fix in all cases.


5. Data Protection

5.1 We will collect personal information to provide our service and notify you about the status of your repair. If you have opted into marketing communications, we may send you updates about new services and promotions.
5.2 Our privacy notice outlines how we process your personal data.


6. General

6.1 We are not liable for delays or failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our control.
6.2 A waiver of rights under this Agreement will not be implied by our failure to enforce any provision.
6.3 This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between you and us.
6.4 No changes to this Agreement will be valid unless made in writing and signed by both parties.
6.5 If any part of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remainder will remain valid.
6.6 This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of English Courts.


Declaration:

By signing our Service Consent, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, and you agree to be bound by them. You also acknowledge the condition of your Device as communicated to you and documented in our records. Upon collection, please check your Device and raise any concerns with our team if necessary.
